No dia 09 de Março de 2017 a turma contou com a presença do professor Jacques Miranda Filho. Jacques é professor no IFES-Campus Guarapari, formado em Engenharia Elétrica na UNIFEI, mesmo local de seu mestrado e doutorado, também trabalhou por 30 na Escelsa, por onde é aposentado.

Durante a palestra mostrou extrema simpatia e conhecimento, nos ensinando um pouco de racionamento de energia elétrica, fornecimento e geração de energia elétrica, eficiência energética, entre outros, sempre contando casos de sua carreira acadêmica e profissional, como eventuais acontecimentos da história de nosso país.

Diante disso, a palestra nos fez refletir sobre a ética em nossas relações, e no prazer de exercer a profissão de engenheiro eletricista.

Nesse mesmo dia tiveram a divulgação dos workshops da Uirá, Black Bee e Cheetah. Assim como a apresentação do CAEEL e de nosso coordenador de curso Maurício.

On March 9th, we had the pleasure to attend to a lecture given by professor Jacques Miranda Filho, a professor at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES, in Portuguese), with a PhD in Electrical Engineering by UNIFEI. Jacques has worked for 30 years in Escelsa, the state operator of the Espírito Santo state, and is retired in the present time.

During the lecture, he has shown a great knowledge and sympathy for the students, giving us a summary about energy generation, transmission, and efficiency, as well as rationing and other aspects, always pointing out to real life experiences and to Brazil’s recent history.

At the end, we were able to think about the importance of ethics in our daily relationships, and in the joy of being an Electrical Engineer.

On the same day, we were also presented to some of UNIFEI’s special projects, such as Uirá, Cheetah and Black Bee, as well as to our course’s manager, Maurício, and to our representative group in the University, the CAEEL.
